CLEAR LAKE - Michele Collins has joined the Woodford Lumber and Home Company staff as a design and sales consultant.
Collins is working with residential and business customers on remodeling and new construction projects as well as assisting in the retail store.
Collins worked over 25 years at Farmers Lumber in Clear Lake, most recently as the assistant manager.
She did drafting and design work for residential housing, kitchen and bath design, residential building estimating, purchasing and other responsibilities. Prior to working at Farmers Lumber, she was office manager for Best Way Inc. in Clear Lake.
She graduated in 1990 from Buena Vista University, Mason City Center, with a bachelor's degree in management science. She earlier graduated from Hamilton Business College with an accounting and business administration degree and from Newman High School.
Collins, of Grafton, is treasurer of the English Shepherd Club, an international association. She and her husband Ken also raise and train American Quarter horses and are active with their grandchildren in 4-H. Collins also helps her daughter and granddaughter in their search and rescue dog training.

congratulations to woodford and Michelle I hope it works out well for all.I think No. Ia. Co-op did Farmers Llbr. a great disservice by selling them off.As a rule you never want to bite the hand that feeds you.Just because building is slow .How quickly you forget who pulled the elevator through the fafm crisis of the 80s andearly 90s. This to me shows a lack of control of a board of directors that are nothing but a bunch of yes men to a controlling general manager looking out for himself!
