On Saturday, April 27, between the hours of 6:00 am and 4:00 pm, 55 two person teams braved our harsh,
wintery weather to compete in the Muskies Inc., Heartland Chapter 10, 19th annual spring fishing tune-up the
“Stan Harrison Memorial Muskie Tournament” on Clear Lake.The proceeds from this fund raising tournament go
to assist local youth fishing programs such as Scout Fishing Days, Kids Fish Camps and Kids Fishing Tournaments
and local Iowa Fisheries Department projects.
Tournament check-in and registration was held on Friday evening, April 26 where participants dined on pizza
and beverages. During that time, everyone was able to view all the wonderful, generous donations in the form of
fishing equipment, general merchandise, gift certificates and gift cards from local and regional businesses and
individuals that were being offered as door and raffle prizes.
There were a total of ten muskies caught during the tournament with eight meeting the 30 inch minimum length
requirement.The tournament team and individual results were as follows:

1st Place: Reid Lammers and Brandon Heuer, 2 fish, 41” and 43” - 32 points

2nd Place: Connor Sorensen and Duane
Reineke, 1 fish, 43”, 17 points
3rd Place: Matt Bell and Mikayla Jones,
1 fish 40”, 14 points
4th Place: Matt Olson and John Newman,
1 fish 38”, 12 points
5th Place: William Jance and Gary
Jance, 1 fish, 37”, 11 points

Muskies Inc. is dedicated to the promotion of catch and release conservation of muskies and the enjoyment of muskie fishing. Besides helping
and donating to local youth organizations and activities, Heartland Chapter members are proud to assist the Iowa Fisheries Department
with spring gill netting and fish stocking initiatives. Local community organizations and groups looking for assistance of this nature or guest

The Heartland Chapter meets at 7:00 pm, on the second Tuesday of each month, at the Other Place Restaurant, in Clear Lake.We welcome
