The Lime Creek Nature Center has scheduled two afternoons of activities for children and their parents over the holidays. Pre-registration is required by calling 641-423-5309. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

On Wednesday, Dec. 27, there will be snowshoeing, a craft, and other fun winter activities from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Lime Creek Nature Center. A warm fire and hot chocolate will be available. Alternative activities are planned if there is no snow cover.

On Thursday, Dec. 28, ice fishing fun will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at Quarry Lake at the Lime Creek Conservation Area. No experience is necessary and instruction will be provided for beginners. A limited amount of equipment will be available. A rod and reel combo and jig may be purchased for $10. A door prize drawing will be held for kids at the end of the event.
