Waldorf University’s Theatre Department will present "Othello" at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15-18 in the Smith Theatre of Voss Hall.
Tickets, $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, and $2 for Waldorf University students, can be reserved at firstname.lastname@example.org or 641-585-8585.
The tragedy by William Shakespeare revolves around Othello, a Moorish general in the Venetian army and its main antagonist, lago.
“Othello has themes of racism, love, jealousy, betrayal, revenge and repentance throughout," said Marla Britton-Johnson, assistant professor of theater.
“Being cast as Othello is exciting and terrifying at the same time,” said Toney Wise, theater major at Waldorf University. “The language is different and it makes you think more about your character and dig deeper into the play."
