Melissa-Phillips, professor at Waldorf University

Waldorf University Professor Melissa Phillips and her daughter, Victoria Knudtson, will give the first performance in the Faculty Artist Series. Their recital on piano and French horn will be 7 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Recital Hall of Odvin Hagen Music Center in Forest City. Admission is free.

Phillips has been adjunct professor of piano at Waldorf University since 2010, holds a bachelor of arts degree in music education with piano emphasis from Wartburg College in Waverly, and has extensive work experience with the Yamaha Corporation of America.

Knudtson is a senior at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, pursuing a bachelors in music in horn performance. At IU, she was awarded the Premier Young Artist Award and Scholarship for the Class of 2018 and the Camarata Scholarship. She is Principal horn of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic.
