MASON CITY — The North Iowa Bucks are in the midst of their first season in the Southern Plains Football League. The Bucks won their first game of the year last weekend over the Minnesota Silverbacks and hosted the Albert Lea Grizzlies on Saturday.

The team is comprised of area players and is a nine-man adult team.

Teams for past seasons have come from southern and central Minnesota, as well as eastern South Dakota, and north central and northwestern Iowa.

The team plays on the east field at Mason City High and was 1-4 entering the weekend.

The team’s next home game is Saturday against the Dakota Doom at 6 p.m.
