MASON CITY — Mother Nature wrecked the racing plans for Mason City last Sunday, but this Sunday the track is setting up to be a good one.

The Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series will invade the Mason City Motor Speedway Sunday night as part of the series' national tour. Sam Hafertepe Jr. is the points leader as he has been dominant so far with 10 victories. Aaron Reutzel has five wins on the year and is in second.

This series races heat races instead of time trials to set up the feature, in which drivers will chase a $24,000 purse.

Cost of admission is $20. Hot laps start at 6 p.m.

Since last Sunday was rained out, the Ted Zieman Memorial will be ran this weekend for Tuners, Hobby Stocks, B-Modifieds and Stock Cars. Modifieds have the night off.
