The Mason City volleyball team finished 1-1 in a home triangular Thursday. The Mohawks kicked off their evening with a 25-19, 25-20 win over Clear Lake before falling to Charles City in two sets.

Grace Tobin had 10 kills for the Mohawks in the win over Clear Lake, Cassie Sievers and Sierra Miner had nine assists apiece, and Tobin and Addy Walker had eight digs apiece.

"We did much better offensively tonight against Charles City and Clear Lake. Our setters spread the ball more and allowed numerous hitters an opportunity to be more comfortable and confident on the court," Mason City coach Nicole Hunter said.

"We had enthusiasm and energy from start to finish on the court and on the bench during both games (against CC and CL). I was very proud the support our bench gave the girls on the court. It truly lead to a much more confident group on the floor, which is needed as we're trying to gain more varsity experience as a team. "
