MARSHALLTOWN — Newman Catholic wrapped up the Class 1A state golf tournament Wednesday with a seventh-place finish after shooting 809 for the tournament.
Morgan Luecht led the way for the Knights with a 19th-place finish individually and a two-day total of 192 (100-92).
Peyton Olson added a 23rd-place finish with a 198 (100-98), Amara Wolf was 37th with a 209 (102-107) and Paige Walked capped off the scoring with a 211 (108-103), which placed her 39th. Katie Mason added a non-counting round of 222 (107-115).
Bishop Garrigan's Isabella Capesius placed 14th with a 188 (91-97).
West Manona’s Samantha Knight was the individual champion with a 151 (76-75) and Akron-Westfield won the team title with a 738.
