GARNER — Clear Lake and Garner-Hayfield-Ventura kept their season’s alive Monday as each punched their tickets to a regional final by finishing first and second at Monday’s Class 3A regional tournament at the Garner Golf Course.
Clear Lake won the tournament with a 351 while GHV shot 372.
The Lions’ Emily Snelling continues to impress on the golf course as she shot a 2-over par round of 74 (39-35) to earn meet medalist. Snelling, who was able to use a driver for the first time this season, opened her round with four bogeys and a birdie for her first nine holes, and closed out with two birdies and a bogey on the second nine.

“351 is our lowest round of the season, and that’s definitely a positive that we’re playing well at the right time,” Clear Lake coach Adam Brinkman said. “Overall, the first nine we played really well but struggled on the second nine. We have to continue getting better at closing rounds.”
GHV’s Carlee Frayne fired a seven-over 79 to earn runner-up medalist. Her older sister, Bailee, finished second on the team and fourth in the tournament with an 89, Rachel Enright shot 94 and Paige Penning added a 110.
