Rockford’s LaCoste wins individual crown at GHV

GARNER — Rockford’s Sheridan LaCoste added another first-place medal to her collection Monday afternoon when she raced to the individual title in a cross country meet at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura.

LaCoste won the race in 20 minutes, 16 seconds, beating West Fork’s McKenna Weaver by four seconds.

Northwood-Kensett’s Lindsey Davidson placed third in 20:29, GHV’s Abby Christians was fourth in 20:57, and St. Ansgar’s Addy Carlson rounded out the top 5 in 21:22.

Behind Carlson, St. Ansgar won its first team title with 76 points. The Saints’ Jessica Gonnerman finished just outside the top 10 as she took 11th in 22:41. West Fork was second with 82 points.

The boys race was not completed due to weather.

Clear Lake takes 4th at Roy Griak

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Clear Lake put forth a strong showing Saturday in the maroon division at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota.

The boys race was cut down to a two-mile race due to the heat and humidity.

“I thought they adjusted to the two-mile race very well,” Clear Lake coach Nick DiMarco said. “I thought they ran a great race with almost 500 people running.”

Sam Pedelty led the Lions with a seventh-place finish in 10:31, Eric Faught was 41st in 11:06, Justin Wright was 87th in 11:22, Ike Branstad placed 98th in 11:30 and Dylan Shuchard place 109th in 11:34.

Brandau wins Highland 1-person best shot

MASON CITY – Cody Brandau shot a 19-under par 53 to win a one-man best shot tournament Sunday at Highland Park Golf Course.

Curt Nolte, Alex Meier and Jim Craw tied for second with matching 61s.

Kammeyer records ace at Highland

MASON CITY – Bill Kammeyer recorded a hole-in-one Sunday during Highland Park Golf Course's one-man best shot tournament.

Kammeyer aced the eighth hole, a 240-yard par 4, with a driver. Witnesses were Steve Kammeyer and Dana Despenes.
