SPENCER — Forest City watched as its season came to an end one win away from the state tournament Saturday as it fell 72-50 to top-ranked Sioux Center.
“They’re pretty good and they’re relentless,” Forest City coach Dusty Meyn said of Sioux Center.
Hannah Anderson paced the Indians with 24 points, Kelsey Koch had 10 points and four steals, and Brea Dillavou added eight points and three assists. Also, Callie McQuown grabbed eight rebounds.
The Indians, who were the Top of Iowa Conference West Division Champions, finish their season 17-7.
“Forest City hadn’t been to a regional final since 2000 so I’m really proud of these girls,” Forest City coach Dusty Meyn said. “They won the conference for the first time since 2006 and made a regional final so I feel like the girls are starting to turn a corner. This is just a stepping stone for us.”
