MASON CITY | Like her sister before her, Megan Meyer is going to be a Hawkeye.

The Mason City junior-to-be announced Thursday her commitment to Iowa to play women's basketball upon completion of her prep career. Her sister, Makenzie, who will be a sophomore at Iowa this fall, is on the women's basketball roster.

Meyer has been an all-state player for the Mohawks in each of the past two seasons.

For her career, Meyer has scored 688 points with an average of just over 14 per game.

As a sophomore, she averaged 18.5 per game with team highs in 3-pointers (49), assists (60) and steals (57) in 23 games.

As a freshman, Meyer scored 10.1 points per game, made 40 3-pointers, had 52 assists and 46 steals as the Mohawks won the Class 4A state title.
