West Hancock 57, Garrigan 53

ALGONA — No. 5 (1A) West Hancock earned a key Top of Iowa Conference West Division win over No. 12 (1A) Bishop Garrigan Friday night. The Eagles pulled away late after the game was tied with 1:20 to play.

Amanda Chizek paced the Eagles with 16 points, Rachel Leerar scored 15 and Kelly Leerar added 12.

Garrigan’s Kaylyn Meyers led all scorers with 21 points and Jenna Boelter added 14.

Newman Catholic 52, St. Ansgar 47

ST. ANSGAR — Newman Catholic held off a tough St. Ansgar team Friday night to pick up a 52-47 victory over the Saints.

Peyton Olson led a balanced Knights offense with 12 points, Lily Castle had 10, and Paige Walker and Kealan Curley scored nine apiece.

The Saints’ Hali Anderson led all scorers with 18 and Molly Jenkins and Elizabeth Jenkins scored eight each.

Clear Lake 46, Webster City 26

WEBSTER CITY | The Lions (No. 3, Class 3A) stayed perfect in North Central Conference play with Friday's 46-26 win.

Sara Faber led the team with 16 points. Lexi Fasbender followed with a 9-point effort.

Clear Lake (9-1, 6-0) steps out of conference play Saturday for a game at Forest City. Game time is 1 p.m.

North Butler 33, Rockford 32

GREENE — North Butler held off a fourth-quarter rally by Rockford Friday night to earn a 33-32 victory.

Trailing 29-18 entering the fourth, Rockford outscored the Bearcats 14-4 in the final quarter, but came up one point short.

Emy Osterbuhr and Nicole Heeren scored 10 points apiece for the Bearcats and Marcy Jacobs added eight.

Jamie Schuster scored 10 to lead the Lady Warriors, Morgan Thieman had nine, and Jenna Paulus finished with seven.

Forest City 58, Lake Mills 27

LAKE MILLS — Behind a game-high 20 points from Hannah Anderson, 12th-ranked (3A) Forest City rolled to a 58-27 win over Lake Mills.

Becca Seglem added eight points for the Indians and Brea Dillavou tossed in seven.

Becca Evans led the Bulldogs with eight points.

Algona 74, St. Edmond 30

ALGONA — Twelve different players scored for Algona Friday as the Bulldogs rolled to a 74-30 win over St. Edmond.

Abbey Holmes was the game’s top scorer with 19 points and Emma Hjelle added 16.

Livi Huss led St. Edmond with nine points.

Osage 72, N-K 15

OSAGE — Fifth-ranked (3A) Osage made it look easy Friday night in a 72-15 win over Northwood-Kensett.

The Green Devils’ Rylie Olson led all scorers with 17 points, Mia Knudsen scored 12 and Gabby Schwarting and Mel Bye each scored nine.

Hampton-Dumont 52, CGD 43

CLARION — Maci Arjes scored a career-high 17 points Friday to help Hampton-Dumont to a 52-43 win over Clarion-Goldfield-Dows.

Arjes knocked down five 3-pointers in the second half alone.

Courtney Miller added 15 points for the Bulldogs (4-6, 3-3), 13 of which came in the first half.
