CRESCO | Zach Lester's 3-pointer with 6 seconds to play pushed the Lions (12-4) past the Cadets.
Lester led the Lions with 23 points Thursday night. Drew Enke scored 12 points and Tate Storbeck followed with 11. As a team, Clear Lake finished with 10 3-pointers.
Clear Lake led 28-26 at halftime before losing the lead late in the fourth quarter.
"We played well, we shot it pretty well," said Clear Lake coach Jeremey Ainley. "It was a tough place to play."
The Lions return to North Central Conference play Friday at Humboldt.
Gilbert 45, NB-C 35
ALGONA | Gilbert got pins at six weights in Thursday's dual meet win against North Butler-Clarksville.
At 220 pounds, NB-C's Trace Engel pinned Jacob Hillmann in 16 seconds. Bryce Trees (113) pinned Gilbert's Brody Bents in 4:33 and 152-pounder Curtis Niedert pinned Juan Romero in 2:54.
Algona 37, NB-C 28
North Butler-Clarksville's 220-pounder Trace Engel picked up his second win of the night, a 4-2 decision over Noah Murphy. Bryce Trees (113) added another win by pinfall.
At heavyweight, Algona's Gavin Meints pinned NB-C's Andrew Peters in 3:13. Calvin Kruse (195) sealed the win with a pin of Jonathan Ulrich in 3 minutes.
NB-C 58, B-K 12
North Butler-Clarksville's Brandon Trees earned a 3-1 sudden victory over Tucker Kroeze at 182 pounds.
Belmond-Klemme's Logan Heaberlin (126) pinned Colton Foster in 47 seconds.
Crestwood 65, Clear Lake 31
CRESCO | No. 1 Crestwood (3A) beat No. 3 Clear Lake (3A) 65-31 in Thursday's battle of top-5 teams.
Jordyn Barragy led Clear Lake with 12 points. Sara Faber finished with 9 points.
Crestwood took a 25-8 lead into the second quarter and never looked back.
"They're a really good team," said Clear Lake coach Bart Smith. "They shot really well to start the game."
The Lions (15-2) travel to Humboldt Friday night.
Mohawk Hockey Club 6, DM Capitals 3
MASON CITY | The Mohawk Hockey Club brought its offense to the North Iowa Ice Arena Thursday night in a 6-3 victory.
Six different players scored on the night as Cole Baskerville, Isaac Donahoo, Zach Jimenez, Nate Lassise, Jacob Lang and Bryce Butler each tallied a goal. Speed Toyne added two assists.
Erik McHenry stopped 29 of the 32 shots he faced in goal for the Mohawks.
