ST. ANSGAR | The Saints (8-4) stepped away from conference play and picked up a win Saturday over the Wildcats.
St. Ansgar's Nicholas Bork (14), Collin Kramer (14), Erik Gerdts (11) and Ethan Kirchgatter (10) each scored in double figures. Riceville's John Miller led all scorers with 21 points.
Eagles win Knighthawk Invite
ROCK VALLEY | West Hancock picked up four champions and three second-place finishes en route to winning Saturday's tournament at Rock Valley High School.
Winners were: Nathan Cabrera (113), Dalton Subject (138), Cole Kelly (170), and Hunter Hagen (195). Tate Hagen (160), Austin Brouwer (220) and Chandler Redenius (285) all finished in second place.
Caleb Eckels, wrestling at 182, finished in third place.
Knights win Cougar Invite
ACKLEY | Newman Catholic sealed the tournament win Saturday with champions at three weights. Jacob McBride (126), Kam Black (152), and Chase McCleish (170) all won for the Knights.
"We had a great last round," said Newman coach Mark Bertsch. "The kids really responded well. They really feed off each other.
"These kids really have a knack for coming together for tournaments."
Newman finished with 160 points. Riceville (103.5) wrapped up second, Rockford (97) came in third, Belmond-Klemme and Northwood-Kensett (93.5) tied for fourth, and West Fork (47) came in seventh.
Riceville's Chance Throndson (145) and Carter Mauer (195) each came home with titles. Rockford's Trevor Johnson (132), Cameron Rasing (160) and Grant Staudt (220) also won titles. Brandon Varner (138), Tucker Kroeze (182), and Cameron Beminio (285) won for B-K, while Chance Throndson (145) and Carter Mauer (195) won for Riceville.
Lions go 3-2 at Osage Duals
OSAGE | Clear Lake beat Dike-New Hartford (60-22), Independence (44-30), and host Osage (39-30) while losing to Humboldt (33-32) and Kasson-Mantorville (58-12).
Clear Lake's Eric Faught went 5-0, wrestling up a weight at 132 against Independence and claiming a win by forfeit against Humboldt. Braxton Doebel (145) went 3-2, wrestling up a weight at 152 to earn a win in the dual with D-NH.
The host Green Devils went 1-4. Averee Abben (106) went 5-0. At 152, Mitchell Schotanus went 4-1.
Bulldogs sweep Lake Mills Duals
LAKE MILLS | The host Bulldogs beat GHV (78-0), North Butler-Clarksville (58-15), North Union (76-6), and the Southeast Polk JV (62-12).
Caiden Jones, Lake Mills 113-pounder, went 4-0, including a win by forfeit, as did Tyler Helgeson at 120 pounds.
