Rockford 50, North Butler 34

ROCKFORD | Jacob Staudt scored 13 points and Alex Schriever and Jared Marth added eight points apiece as Rockford clinched a share of the Top of Iowa Conference East Division with a 50-34 win over North Butler on Friday.

The Warriors, who improved to 16-4 on the season, finished in a tie with Newman Catholic for the conference title.

Rockford will travel to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in the TIC Crossover tournament on Tuesday.

Dowling Catholic 59, Mason City 48

WEST DES MOINES | Mason City stayed with Dowling Catholic until a third quarter run by the Maroons in a 59-48 loss on Friday.

After trailing by just four at intermission, the Mohawks were outscored 20-7 in the third quarter and could not make a substantial comeback over the final eight minutes.

Dylan Miller paced Mason City with 19 points.

Avery Mellman added nine.

Bishop Garrigan 60, West Hancock 59

BRITT | A shot by the Eagles at the buzzer came up short as the Golden Bears (16-3) held on for the win.

T.J. Schnurr led Garrigan with 15 points and 11 rebounds and John Joyce added 11 points. Angelo Winkel had 13 points and Cade Winkel added 11 points.

"I was pleased with how our kids played," said West Hancock coach Brian Peterson. "We rebounded Garrigan equal, which is a win our book."

Lucas Weiland led the Eagles (10-10) with 25 points and 7 rebounds. MaCoy Yeakel finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Clear Lake 71, St. Edmond 67

FORT DODGE | Zach Lester scored a team-high 36 points. Drew Enke followed with 17 points.

The Lions (15-4) trailed by 15 points at halftime.

West Fork 65, Nashua-Plainfield 48

SHEFFIELD | West Fork overcame a slow start with a 17-4 run in the third quarter and won its ninth consecutive game with a 65-48 victory over Nashua-Plainfield on Friday.

Zach Martinek hit 4-of-6 three-point attempts and finished with 17 points to lead the Warhawks.

Ian Latham added 13 for West Fork.

West Fork will travel to Eagle Grove on Tuesday in the TIC Crossover match-ups.

Forest City 52, Lake Mills 42

FOREST CITY | The Forest City boys basketball team clinched a share of the Top of Iowa Conference West Division crown with a 52-42 victory over Lake Mills on Friday.

The conference title was the 10th in the past 17 years for the Indians.

“The kids have worked hard for this,” Forest City coach Dan Rosacker said. “They found a way to win.”

Forest City will receive the top seed in Tuesday’s TIC crossover basketball tournament and will play host to Newman Catholic.

North Iowa 60, Eagle Grove 53

BUFFALO CENTER | Nathan Beenken scored 23 points to lead three Bison in double figures as North Iowa closed its conference season with a 60-53 win over Eagle Grove on Friday.

Dominyk Price and Taylor Baumann added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Ryan Smith led all scorers with 28 for North Iowa.

The Bison will play host to North Butler in the TIC Crossover tournament on Tuesday.


Forest City 59, Lake Mills 44

FOREST CITY | The Indians (16-4) came out of the gate hot Friday night, jumping out to a 26-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Hannah Anderson, who finished with a team-high 21 points, buried three of her five 3-pointers in the opening frame.

"Our guard play at the top of the press got us out to a hot start," said Forest City Dusty Meyn.

Kelsey Koch added 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Dowling 68, Mason City 54

WEST DES MOINES | The Mohawks (11-9) took a 19-17 lead into the second quarter Friday night buy couldn't protect the lead.

Anna Deets led Mason City with 16 points. Megan Meyer followed with 13 points and Hannah Faktor added 12.

Caitlin Clark led Dowling (17-1) with a game-high 24 points.

Clear Lake 70, St. Edmond 28

FORT DODGE | Sarah Faber led the Lions (18-2) with 29 points.

Zoe Fasbender scored 14 points and Lexi Fasbender had 12 points.

West Fork 43, Nashua-Plainfield 27

SHEFFIELD | McKenna Weaver scored a game-high 15 points for the Warhawks (14-6) Friday night. She also picked off six steals, giving her 99 for a new single-season record.

Rachael Jones scored 10 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

Libby Fisher led N-P with 11 points. Britney Holthaus finished with 7 points.

Eagle Grove 57, North Iowa 51

BUFFALO CENTER | Katelin Adams led North Iowa with a game high 26 points.

The Lady Bison trailed 33-31 at the end of the third quarter, but couldn't close the gap at the free-throw line.

Danessa Bruner finished with 12 points. Hannah Main added 6 points.

Natalie Vrba led Eagle Grove with 17 points.

North Butler 40, Rockford 35

ROCKFORD | Madison Clipperton led North Butler (9-9) Friday night with a game-high 15 points. Morgan Arjes followed with 10 points.

Kayla Carroll led Rockforf with 10 points.

Algona 58, Iowa Falls-Alden 37

ALGONA | Abbey Holmes poured in a game-high 20 points Friday night, and was followed Aliyah Buscher who finished with 20.

The Bulldogs (16-4) led 36-18 at the end of the first half.

Grace Renaud led IF-A with 14 points.

Osage 63, Northwood-Kensett 20

NORTHWOOD | The Osage girls basketball team improved to 20-0 on the season as the Green Devils routed Northwood-Kensett 63-20 on Friday.

The Green Devils put the game away quickly as they surged to a 44-8 halftime advantage.

Mia Knudsen led Osage with 15 points.
