Mason City substate game postponed

INDIANOLA — The rain wreaked havoc down in Indianola late Monday afternoon to force the postponement of the Mason City vs. Indianola Class 4A substate semifinal game.

The game will now be played today at 7 p.m. in Indianola. The winner plays at Ankeny Centennial on Wednesday.

North Stars pick up sweep over Decorah

OSAGE — Osage improved to 10-2 Sunday night with a pair of wins over Decorah. The North Stars won the first game 7-1 before winning the nightcap 1-0.

Joey Verstegen continues to swing a hot bat for Osage as he collected three hits, including a double, in the opener, and added two more in Game 2. He also earned the win on the mound in Game 1 with six strikeouts in six innings.

Brock Adams finished with three hits in the opener while Colin Quinn, Parker Truesdell and Mitch Keeren had two hits apiece.

Bo Greenly and Ben Mason combined to toss a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the second game.

Osage hosts Fort Atkinson next Sunday.
