Could Tuesday's trade, sending Adrian Peterson from the Saints to the Cardinals in exchange for a conditional late-rounder, be a rare win-win for both Arizona and New Orleans?

Peterson goes to a power run game in Arizona not unlike the one he leaves behind in New Orleans and won't have to fight for carries with Kamara and Mark Ingram. (Whether he fights on the sideline with Bruce Arians, like he did with Sean Payton, is to be determined).

Kamara was already out-touching Peterson, 35-29, and infringing on Mark Ingram's work, too. So removing Peterson from the backfield mix stands to benefit not only the Saints' second-round playmaker but Ingram, who'd yet to command more than 18 touches — a number he reached seven times in his breakout 2016 campaign.

As far as rest of season outlook goes, we'd still stack the three, Ingram, Kamara, Peterson.

Bruce Arians needs a run game desperately to take pressure off Carson Palmer. Still, he's a pass-first coach with a clear nickel back in Andre Ellington, and Arizona's offensive line issues could leave Peterson with a case of deja vu after what his Vikings endured a season ago.

Meantime, the Saints' defense is showing intriguing signs of life, and Payton may be ready to ride his run game a bit more to continue morphing into a more complementary club for Drew Brees. Don't be surprised when Ingram, currently RB36, takes off and passes Kamara (RB26) in standard leagues quickly. The rookie will get the attention as the youngster whose playtime path just further cleared, but we like Ingram, now more than ever, as the buy-low fantasy option.
