As nonprofit organizations with a common interest in promoting the economic and general well-being of our region, we encourage voters to approve the two Mason City ballot questions concerning the River City Renaissance project.

If we stop investing in our community, we will continue to lose population and have difficulty retaining younger workers. The State of Iowa has already demonstrated its support for this project by committing up to $10 million in state funding toward this project. Private investment will exceed $15 million. City officials have carefully structured the financing to protect tax payers.

The greater risk is doing nothing. Collectively, our organizations serve the human service needs of our region. Those needs continue to increase. We must do something to change our destiny and help North Iowa to grow.

We are at our best when we work together. Please join us in working for this project that will improve our community amenities, increase our tax base, and attract people to North Iowa.
