A group of citizens from North Iowa has been working for several years now to bring a dog park to Mason City.

The reality is near. The course has included education, planning and fundraising. All of those aspects will no doubt continue. Dogs are happier, better behaved and healthier when given a safe, off-leash environment in which to play, train and socialize.

Humans will enjoy the socialization, walking paths and sheer fun of dogs at play as well.

Right now we need your help. Vote for our park at or bark for your park 13 on facebook until May 31 and we could win up to $100,000 toward our park.

Please help bring this additional asset to North Iowa. You can vote twice daily.

Woof woof! Thank you.
