MASON CITY — Wright on the Park Inc. will be host to a national Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks of America Workshop.

Fittingly, the workshop will be held at the Historic Park Inn Hotel in two sessions, July 14-19 and Aug. 4-9, 2013.

The topic: Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie School in the Midwest.

The Historic Park Inn is the last remaining hotel designed by Wright.

Pat Schultz, executive director of Wright on the Park, said the workshop is for educators at all levels - administrators, teacher, librarians, curriculum coordinators and others.

“It will feature a faculty of leading experts on Wright on topics such as Prairie School architecture, landscaping and interior design; tours of significant Prairie School sites; and collaboration time with other educators to develop curriculum which uses architecture to teach history, culture and art.”

Each attendee will receive a $1,200 stipend to help offset their costs.

Anyone interested in attending must submit an application by March 4, 2013. Attendees will be selected from the applicant pool and notified by April 1, 2013.

Those seeking further information should e-mail Schultz, workshop director, at director@wrightonthepark.org. A full description of the workshop is available at www.wrightonthepark.org.
