FOREST CITY | The Winnebago County Relay for Life surpassed its $81,000 fundraising goal in 2017.
The chapter raised $88,479 thanks to corporate sponsors and different fundraising events throughout the year, like the Relay for Life event in June, bake sales, Coaches versus Cancer events and the Walking Eagle Pumpkin Patch.
“We are so grateful to the Winnebago County community for helping us surpass our $81,000 fundraising goal,” said Carolyn Sunde, chapter chairman. “These funds are instrumental in conducting cancer research as well as for providing support to cancer patients and their families.”
The 2018 Relay for Life event will take place from noon to 10 p.m. on June 23 on the Winnebago County Courthouse Square, 126 S. Clark St., in Forest City.
