VENTURA — Sandra J. Quintus, of Artistic Walls by Sandra, has won a first-place award in American Painting Contractor (APC) Magazine’s 2012 Top Job Competition.
Top Job Awards are considered the industry’s highest honor, according to a news release.
This year’s competition was fierce, according to Emily Howard, APC Editor and Juror, particularly in the decorative category.
“Artistic Walls by Sandra, out of Ventura, Iowa, wowed her way into a first-prize spot with her marketing and sales skills as well as her artistic ability,” Howard said.
The project, in the Mason City residence of Mark Mulkey, included faux bois (painted wood graining as shown below), “leather” walls, a metallic reactive finish and a 20-foot-high Trompe Loeil ceiling treatment creating the illusion of an observatory with an aged copper truss system inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright design.
