COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — A woman, her daughter and another child are dead in a car accident near Council Bluffs.

The Pottawattamie County sheriff's office says the accident happened about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday when Deidre Whitehill, of Council Bluffs, lost control of her car on Iowa Highway 92. The car crossed the center line and hit an oncoming minivan.

Whitehill, her 14-year-old daughter, Kelsey Breams, of Lincoln, Neb., and another passenger, 11-year-old Hail Beck of Council Bluffs, all died.

The driver of the minivan suffered minor injuries.
