LAKE MILLS — The Teluwut Grillehouse and Pub plans to open in downtown Lake Mills next year.

The restaurant, which  has locations in Osage and Cresco, will be in The 1900 Building, which is owned by Lake Mills Entertainment, Inc.

This turn-of-the-century building consists of four storefronts that share a common roof.

Teresa Nicholson, executive director of Win-Worth Betco and secretary for LMEI, said the restaurant will be located where a jewelry store and a bank used to be.

LMEI is in the midst of renovating these storefronts.

Hopefully Teluwut will be able to open in early spring, Nicholson said.

Teluwut, owned by Troy Krahenbuhl and Becky Wagner, offers steak, seafood, pasta, salads, sandwiches and burgers  as well as a kid-friendly menu, according to the restaurant’s website, www.teluwut.com. It is open for lunch and dinner.

Another portion of The 1900 Building is being used by a non-denominational youth center. LMEI eventually plans to do some exterior work on it, according to Nicholson.

The fourth building in the complex is the former Odd Fellows location. LMEI owns the Mills Theatre adjacent to it, so it will be used to expand the theater and allow for a second movie screen. That project will begin in a few weeks, Nicholson said.

After the Mills Theatre closed in 2001, LMEI was formed as a non-profit group to purchase the building. The theater reopened in 2008 after being renovated.

“All sorts of fun things are going on in Lake Mills on Main Street,” Nicholson said.

Lucky Lake Mills. I will have a reason to go there now and I hope the people who live there get behind them and patronize them. They are a great place to eat and you know right away you're not at a fast food joint. The food is excellent, never had a bad meal there. I love their food and atmosphere.

Teresa Nicholson has been a godsend to Lake Mills. I know she has gone above and beyond to help promote the city and try to find new business and industries to locate there. Love her dedication. I hope Lake Mills realizes what they have and express their appreciation to her. Not all small towns are as lucky.

I hope TELUWUT, doesn't read comments by "tiredofitall".
I would rather know what I am getting and know that they have a tested market plan that allows them to make a profit and stay around for a while.

Very good place to eat for lunch. What an asset for Lake Mills. The lunch specials are varied daily with many selections. Love the atmosphere also.

Great food, but overpriced. I quit eating there. If each item was $2.00 less it would be worth the money. Again, the food is good, but at big city prices.
