MASON CITY — The Salvation Army’s annual Krugerrand Auction will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Center Court in Southbridge Mall.

The Salvation Army is auctioning off the first South African Krugerrand coin ever donated in Mason City. It was purchased at last year’s auction by Tom Fretty, who returned it so there would be a coin to sell again this year.

The following themed baskets also will be auctioned: Baking With Love, Silent Night, Paint the Town Red, Hallmark Kiddie Car, Picnic at the Lake, Holiday Food, Chocolate, Christmas Movie, Iowa Hawkeye and Iowa State Cyclones (including tickets to a game).

Two tickets to Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, an autographed Iowa State football and an autographed Iowa State 100 years of men’s basketball framed poster also will be auctioned.

Frank Fox from Fox Auction Company will donate his time as the auctioneer.

The red kettle campaign still needs bell ringers. To sign up to ring the bell, call 641-424-4031.
