MASON CITY - Pure Pleasure, an adult novelty, video and book store between Mason City and Clear Lake, has fulfilled its legal requirements as a sexually-oriented business, a county official said Wednesday.

Earlier this year, Cerro Gordo County Zoning Administrator Tom Drzycimski inspected the business, which at 10480 265th St., along Highway 122 in a building that formerly housed Lake Equipment.

He determined it was a sexually-oriented business which requires an application and a yearly inspection not required of other retail businesses.

Pure Pleasure appealed the decision to the county's Board of Adjustment which uphheld Drzycimski's decision.

Soon after, DiMa Corp., owner of Pure Pleasure, made application for a sexually-oriented business permit.

As required by the zoning ordinance, the Clear Lake Fire Department and Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health approved the application and Drzycimski signed the permit Wednesday.
