MASON CITY | Vicente Gonzalez, 3, of Mason City, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at home.
Funeral services for Vicente will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Vicente’s family will be donating his Christmas presents to Toys for Tots, and encourages others to do the same in his memory. Vicente gave the gift of life by being an organ donor.
Vicente Gonzalez was born May 21, 2013, to Jesse Gonzalez and Darcy Brummund-Chase in Mason City.
He was a happy, curious little boy who loved any opportunity to learn, always asking “Why.” He liked to help fix the car, mow the lawn, but said “My hands are full” or “One minute” if he was asked to clean.
Vicente loved music, the outdoors, anything with wheels, and his cartoons.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jesse Gonzalez and Darcy Brummund-Chase, of Mason City; his older brother, Carter Chase; his grandmothers, Donna Brummund and Victoria Bravo, both of Mason City; his uncles, Jason Brummund, of Mason City, Augustine (Ivonne) Gonzalez of Mason City and Benjamin Gonzalez, of Mason City; his aunt, Ana (John) Goodnow, of San Diego; as well as many cousins.
Vicente was preceded in death by his pet guinea pig Peppa, and his grandfather, Van Brummund, as well as many other family members.
