FOREST CITY | Sandra Kammrad, 69, of Forest City, died Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, at First Grace Baptist Church, Sheffield, with Rev. Ken Livingston presiding. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Retz Funeral Home, Sheffield.
Sandra Lee Kammrad was born November 6, 1948, in Mason City, a daughter of Everett and Eleanor (Anderson) Berrier. She grew up attending Mason City Schools and graduated before attending NIACC.
On June 17, 1967 Sandra was united in marriage with Rick Kammrad at Calvary Alliance Church in Mason City. While he served in the Army the couple lived in Germany. When they returned to Iowa, Sandra worked for Sukup Manufacturing. They later relocated to Forest City and Sandra worked for Pamida for many years.
Sandra like to sew for others and made many bride's maid dresses and gowns. She also was an accomplished cook and enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers. She was a collector of dolls, both Barbie and porcelain dolls. She also had a collection of rare Salvation Army Dolls.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Rick Kammrad; daughter: Kristie Lee (Rick) Morris, Forest City; 2 grandchildren: Cassandra (Phil) Biermann and Sarah Miles (Drew Heuberger); 7 great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Bryce, Mallorie, Lily, Parker, Bentley & Linkin; brother: Richard (Sandy) Kunzman; sister: Janet (Roger) Carpenter; aunt: Shirley Wallace and mother-in-law: Eileen Lutcavish; aunt Shirley Wallace, many cousins and extended family.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents and nephew Timmy Carpenter, aunts Hazel Hernandez and Thelma Mahaffey and uncle Irvin Terry.
