MANLY | Patrick Daniel Sheridan, 73, of Manly, Iowa, passed away Jan. 9, 2014, from cancer. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday Jan. 25, at First Assembly of God Church, 1301 N. Carolina Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. George Ady officiating.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the church.

Patrick Daniel Sheridan was born Jan. 2, 1941, to Daniel and Blanche (Finnegan) Sheridan. Patrick grew up on the family farm near Lawler, Iowa. He graduated from high school in 1959.

He married Barbara Carter on Aug. 4, 1962. They later divorced. They had four children, Jeannie (Deane Jr.) Johnson of Mason City, Joannie (Chip) Hillesheim of Murphysboro, Ill., and Jacqueline Sheridan and Janell (Mick) Norton, of Dakota City, Neb.

Patrick worked at various jobs in the area. On Jan. 10, 1975, he went into business for himself as a carpenter.

Patrick received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1985. He was 64 years old when he purchased his first motorcycle and learned to ride.

He was survived by his sisters, Mary (Virgil) Hillsman and Alice (Ray) Tiemessen; his daughters, Jeannie (Deane Jr.) Johnson, Joannie (Chip) Hillesheim and Janell (Mick) Norton; grandchildren, Stephanie (Dustin) McDonald, Brooke Johnson and Jake Bushbaum, Evan (Sheree) Norton, Megan (Ryan) Trageser, Melody Boerjan, Hillary (Shiloh) Seymour, Ashley (Tyler) Cooper, Holly Hillesheim, Cutler Hillesheim, Hannah Norton, Leah Norton, Nicole Norton; great-grandchildren Lathan and Shelby McDonald, Faith and Kalianne Norton, Levi and Bristol Seymour.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Blanche Sheridan; brother-in-law, Henry Jr. and sister Margret Joebgen, daughter Jacqueline Sheridan and grandson Cory Hillesheim.
