Steven David Muller

CLEAR LAKE — Steven David Muller, 29, of Lake Forest, Calif., formerly of Clear Lake, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle/car accident in Lake Forest, Calif.

A Celebration of Life Service for Steven David will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Bernie Colorado officiating.

Visitation will be 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, and also one hour before the service at the church. Following the service he will be cremated and inurnment will take place later in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

 Family suggests remembrances, which will be used to honor the memory, and spirit, of Steven David.

Steven was born June 8, 1983, in Algona, the son of Steven L. and Kathy N. (Ostrander) Muller. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 2001, North Iowa Area Community College in 2003, and the University of Northern Iowa in 2005, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. While attending the University of Northern Iowa, he received several awards for his exhibited artwork. He continued his education at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, working on his Master of Fine Arts. He was happily employed as a graphic designer by L.R.G. of Irvine, Calif., where he was loved, and respected.

Steven enjoyed bicycling, skating, hiking, and being with his family; his greatest passion was his artwork. His philosophy in life was that everyone should be treated fairly, maintaining personal responsibility, in return.

Steven is survived by his parents, Steve and Kathy Muller, Clear Lake; sister, Alyssa Muller, Clear Lake; fiancée, Amanda Hunter, Lake Forest, Calif.; maternal grandmother, Alma Ostrander, Clear Lake; paternal grandparents, Lyle and Joyce Muller, Emmetsburg; aunts and uncles, Nancy and Jack Brown, Clear Lake, Kathy and Arnie Heng, Cylinder, and Denny Muller, Bedford, Texas, and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David L. Ostrander.

HAMPTON — Dora E. Neuhaus, 91, of Hampton, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton.

Rodney L. Siemers

MASON CITY — Rodney L. Siemers, 66, of Mason City and formerly of Marshfield, Wis., died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at his home in Mason City.

Robert ‘Bob’ Lorn Bohn

MASON CITY — Robert “Bob” Lorn Bohn, 88, of Mason City, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, surrounded by his close friends.

A funeral service for Bob will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21,  at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be designated to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 N. Delaware, Mason City, IA 50401.

Robert Lorn Bohn, son of Julius and Augusta Jass Bohn, was born March 24, 1924, in Grant Township, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1943. Bob farmed all of his life and worked at the Sugar Beet, Brick and Tile, and retired from Curries Manufacturing in 1990.

He enjoyed making bird houses and was an avid gardener. He loved to help his friends whenever he was able.

Bob is a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City and was an active volunteer at the church.

He is survived by his friends, Emma Mostrom, Mason City, Cindy (Richard) Lang, Clive, and Mark (Cindy) Mostrom, Mason City and their families.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilma Bohn Eygabroad.

MASON CITY — Mary L. Weber, 79, of Mason City, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

Dorothy H. Spangenberg

HAMPTON — Dorothy H. Spangenberg, 87, of Hampton, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton, with the Rev. Karl Bollhagen and Vicar Michael Kearney officiating. Burial will take place in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Hampton.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.
