NORTHWOOD — A suspect in a Monday morning stabbing in Northwood’s Swensrud Park is in custody, according to the Worth County Sheriff’s Department.
A sheriff’s dispatcher reading from a news release said the public is no longer in any danger.
Authorities Monday night did not release the name of the suspect or where he was apprehended.
The name of the victim was also not released Monday night.
The stabbing was reported about 11:50 a.m. Monday in the park.
A bridge behind the Northwood Civic Center was blocked with yellow police tape as officers from the Northwood Police Department and sheriff’s office appeared to be combing the scene looking for evidence.
Mason City Fire Department Ambulance and Northwood Fire Rescue assisted at the scene.
A news release on the incident is expected to be issued sometime Tuesday. Watch this website for updates.
