MASON CITY | More than 320 winter wear items will be distributed to North Iowans in need this season.

North Iowa Area Community College recently completed its Student Senate-run coat drive, Coatless in the Cold.

Thanks to generous North Iowans and the NIACC Student Senate members who stood coatless in the cold, NIVC Services Inc. said it received over 320 items and $42 in cash. Student Government adviser Gary Herrig helped coordinate the donation.

Among the donations were men's and women's coats, hats, scarves and children's items, which will be distributed by Affordables Thrift Store, a division of NIVC Services.

The items will be available at the thrift store, 315 N. Delaware Ave., Mason City, for individuals who come in and ask for free items from the coat drive.

Contact business manager Steve Beavers at 641-423-7071 or executive director Sherry O. Becker at 641-423-3301 for more information.
