MASON CITY — The Mason City High School Instrumental Music Department's Orchestra and Band Extravaganza is Monday, Oct. 24, at Mason City High School.
An all-you-can-eat Dad's Belgian Waffle Supper, sponsored by the Instrumental Music Boosters, will be served from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.
Tickets are $8 for adults. Children 5 and under are free. Take-out will be available.
Proceeds will support the Mason City Schools' instrumental music program.
Music begins at 6:45 p.m. with a concert by the MCHS String Orchestra, directed by Malcolm Burke, in the Mohawk Performance Hall in the FEMA Safe Room.
At 7:30 p.m., the bands will perform in the gymnasium, directed by Mike McEniry and Russ Kramer, assisted by percussion coach Aaron Anderson and assistant director Malcolm Burke.
A percussion ensemble will also perform, followed by Jazz Band I.
The Marching Mohawks will perform their football pre-game and half-time shows, featuring the sounds of Bon Jovi.
