MASON CITY — Four people were arrested on drug charges Thursday night in the 3000 block of 19th Street Southwest.

The incident started when the vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation at about 10:13 p.m. Thursday.

The driver, Joshua Taylor Watson, 24, and passengers Todd Dean Vanfossen, 50, Joseph Edward Zayas, 26, and Jada Marie Mudge, 28, were arrested on various charges and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Watson, Mudge and Zayas are residents of Rochester, Minn. Vanfossen lives in Mason City.

Watson was charged with possession and conveyance of contraband, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and failure to have a valid driver’s license.

Mudge was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container.

Zayas was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and open container.

Vanfossen was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a Floyd County warrant for fifth-degree theft.

Zayas and Vanfossen both posted $300 bond. Vanfossen was released to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department on the outstanding warrant.

Mudge remains jailed on $1,000 bond. Watson is being held on $10,000 bond.
