The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency is looking for volunteers to help with emergency preparedness and response in Floyd County.

This is an opportunity for any elected officials, civic groups, faith-based organizations, disaster recovery coalitions, businesses, schools, scouting organizations, and private citizens to come together and learn how they can be a huge asset for the county.

Ways in which this organization can help when called upon will be discussed at the meeting. This meeting is for informational purposes. Previous emergency services training is not a requirement to participate in the group.

There is no cost to participate in the organization.

The group acts as a support for all of Floyd County emergency responders like fire, EMS, and police.

The meeting will be held 6 p.m. Oct. 25 in the basement of the Floyd County Courthouse in the assembly room.
