ALGONA | The  third annual Dirty Back 40 Mud Run will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the ABATE Freedom Park campground, just north of Algona on 160th Avenue, two miles north of Highway 18.

This is a fundraiser for the Algona Police Reserves.

The mud run will feature a nearly 4-mile route and more than a dozen obstacles, both natural and man-made, for teams and individuals.

More competitive individuals are encouraged to sign up for earlier waves while those looking to just have fun are encouraged to sign up for later waves.

People can register at a discounted rate online at www.dirtyback40.com until Wednesday, Sept. 17, with individuals starting at $40 and signing up as a team offering additional discounts. Race day fees start at $50 for individuals. Complete fee information is available at www.dirtyback40.com.

Race packets will be available race day morning, starting at 8 a.m. Waves start at 9 a.m. with the award presentation at 11:30 a.m.

The entry fee includes a bib number, a meal ticket and a Dirty Back 40 T-shirt.
