MASON CITY — A Detroit, Mich., man has been charged with willful injury, a Class D felony, after allegedly stabbing a Mason City man on Sunday.

Anthony E. Hopkins, 42, is accused of taking a knife and cutting Reginald Ingram on the right side of his chest and his right hand shortly after 3 p.m. in Morgan Timberland Park, according to Sgt. Dave Houser of the Mason City Police Department.

Ingram, 40, was treated and released from Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Hopkins also was charged with public intoxication.

He is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $10,000 bond.
