NEW HAMPTON | A Rudd man has been accused of causing serious injury to a child he sexually abused, court documents say.
The 55-year-old man was wanted on felony first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree sexual abuse and incest charges filed in August. He turned himself in to the Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.
The Globe Gazette removed the man's name from this story in order to avoid identifying the unknown victim or victims. It is newspaper policy to not identify alleged victims of sexual assault.
The man is accused of performing a sex act on a child, causing serious injury, according to court documents. The alleged abuse occurred sometime during March 2015 and January 2017, court documents say.
The man is being held in Chickasaw County on a $50,000 bond.
He has demanded a speedy trial and will be arraigned Nov. 21 in Chickasaw County District Court. His trial is scheduled for Jan. 30, 2018.
