MASON CITY - Three people from Mason City were arrested Saturday for harassment and criminal mischief after damaging a car and threatening a woman over a social media disagreement.
Elizabeth Rene Green, 20, Devin Isaac Ward, 18, and Mikalia Ranae Kohler, 18, were each charged with misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief and third degree harassment following an incident at the Ray Rorick Skate Park, 1090 15th St. S.W. in Mason City.
At about 4:56 p.m. April 19, the three were at the park and began yelling at another woman “in attempt to start a fight over a post made on social media,” court documents said.
The woman remained in her vehicle while the three yelled at her to get out. Then the three “friends began damaging (woman’s initials) vehicle," police wrote in charging documents.
Ward punched the windshield, court documents said, causing it to crack.
According to court documents, the cost to replace the vehicle is $345 while the cost to repair the windshield is $460.
Kohler admitted to a Mason City Police officer that she hit the vehicle, court documents said.
All three were booked in Cerro Gordo County Jail Saturday and posted $1,300 bond each the same day.
Ward, Kohler and Green are scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court May 25.
