CLEAR LAKE | An Albert Lea, Minnesota, man wanted for months on forgery and stolen lottery ticket charges in Clear Lake has been arrested.
Ryan Joseph Voelker, 32, was picked up Friday in Sherburne City, Minnesota on a nationwide warrant.
Voelker is charged with felony forgery and two counts of forgery or theft of lottery tickets in February.
According to court documents, about 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, Voelker entered Kwik Star in Clear Lake.
Clear Lake Police say Voelker is observed on video purchasing a total of $47.52 in goods and paid the clerk with a forged check.
He allegedly purchased four Iowa Lottery Mega Crossword scratch tickets at $10 per ticket.
Voelker allegedly forged the check by forging the account holder’s name, without permission.
On Feb. 15, he was arrested in Albert Lea on a separate matter. At the time of arrest, Voelker was in possession of a stolen check book and driver’s license receipt belonging to the account holder, court records said.
Nationwide warrant for arrest was issued March 27. Voelker was brought Friday to Cerro Gordo County Jail. No court date has been set. Voelker is held on $5,000 bond.
