MASON CITY | A Mason City woman has been charged with assault after police said she punched a person in the face earlier this month at an apartment.
Dianeshia N. Pannhoff, 32, of Mason City, has been charged with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
She is accused of punching a person in the face, "causing severe bruising and a cut on the face requiring stitches at a local medical center," according to the Mason City Police Department criminal complaint. The incident was reported about 2:45 a.m. March 3 at an apartment in the 300 block of First Street Southwest.
Pannhoff allegedly admitted to the assault during an interview with police, court documents said.
She has been released on bond and scheduled to appear in court March 21.
