MASON CITY | A Mason City man was charged with first-degree murder Friday after the man he is accused of stabbing on May 30 died earlier this week.
Braedon Steven Bowers, 20, will be arraigned at 1:15 p.m. June 27 in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
The stabbing victim, Wraymond Leon Todd, 23, Mason City, died June 4 while recovering in the hospital.
Bowers' bond has been raised from $50,000 to $500,000 in cash, said Cerro Gordo County Attorney Carlyle Dalen.
Police say Bowers stabbed Todd in the chest May 30 on West State Street and then fled the scene. He was arrested for attempted murder the next day.
Police say Bowers and Todd knew each other, but haven't released details of that relationship or said what they think motivated the incident.
