FOREST CITY | A Lake Mills man faces a felony charge after marijuana allegedly was found hidden in his underwear when he was booked into the Winnebago County Jail on a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge.

Robert J. Gonzalas, 19, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. Saturday by the Lake Mills Police Department. He was in possession of a metal pipe and a wooden container used to smoke marijuana, according to a criminal complaint.

A Lake Mills officer did a routine search of Gonzalas before he entered the jail in Forest City. A criminal complaint states Gonzalas was given the chance to hand over any contraband before going into the facility, but he did not.

Jail staff then found a baggie of marijuana and a blunt in Gonzalas' underwear, according to the complaint. He was charged with possession of contraband in a correctional institution.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 1.
