GARNER | A Garner woman has been charged in the death of a Belmond motorcyclist in June.

Shannon Gamble, 34, has been charged with felony homicide by vehicle and misdemeanor operating while under the influence. She is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Gamble struck a northbound motorcycle head-on while attempting to pass a southbound vehicle near Klemme around noon June 18, the Iowa State Patrol said.

Nathan Wadsley, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to law enforcement. The crash occurred near U.S. Highway 69 and County Road B-60.

Gamble was life-flighted after the crash.

The Iowa State Patrol handled the investigation, Hancock County Sheriff Scott Dodd said, which can take several months when a collision involves a fatality.

"This is a fatal car-motorcycle incident ... it takes time to complete those investigations,” Dodd said.

A court date hasn’t been set.
