FOREST CITY | A former Waldorf University student has been charged in a campus sexual assault case.
Sean Patrick Perkins, 18, a resident of Olathe, Kansas, was arrested there Saturday on a warrant for felony third-degree sexual abuse.
In Iowa law, rape and sexual assault are charged as "sexual abuse."
Perkins is accused of having sex with a student against her will in her dorm room at around 1 a.m. on Nov. 12.
Perkins allegedly told an officer who questioned him that the accuser told him "no" three or four times, according to the Forest City Police Department criminal complaint filed Feb. 5.
The next day Perkins told the accuser he was sorry for what he did and that she "needed to keep this quiet," the complaint states.
Waldorf spokeswoman Kelli Harms said Perkins was a student there in the fall but is no longer attending the university.
