Search warrant

Members of the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force Special Operations Group leave the scene of a drug-related search warrant in Mason City on Wednesday morning.

MASON CITY | A drug-related search warrant was executed at a home in downtown Mason City Wednesday morning, law enforcement says.

The North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force Special Operations Group and other law enforcement served the warrant about 9 a.m. at a home in the 400 block of North Washington Avenue.

Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals confirmed the warrant was related to drugs and said the SOG team made entry on the home for "safety reasons."

No arrests have been made, but Pals said the investigation is ongoing.

Marked and unmarked law enforcement vehicles, including a large, white truck, and a number of officers carrying weapons were at the scene.

A K-9 was seen sniffing vehicles in an area behind the house.
