CLEAR LAKE - A Clear Lake woman was arrested for using a stun gun on a man she knew in a Clear Lake trailer home.
Jessica May Marquand, 28, was charged with domestic abuse assault display or use weapon - first offense following an incident April 30.
At about 2:01 a.m., Marquand allegedly used a stun gun, which produces a high-voltage electric pulse designed to immobilize a person, on a man she knew in a trailer on the 2400 block of South Shore Drive.
According to the criminal complaint, the stun caused the man pain, left marks on him and made him ill.
A statewide warrant for her arrest was issued Wednesday. She was arrested and appeared in court Thursday where she was released on her own recognizance.
According to court documents, a no contact order was not issued in this matter.
“The court does not believe that the Defendant poses a danger to (the victim),” documents said.
Marquand is scheduled to appear May 25 in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
