CLEAR LAKE | Clear Lake police are investigating a string of thefts from vehicles over the weekend.

The Clear Lake Police Department said in a news release they took took five reports of thefts from eight vehicles Sunday.  

The thefts occurred sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday morning in the north central area of Clear Lake, police said. 

In one report, the vehicle was parked inside the owner's garage, according to police, who noted the vehicle and a garage door was unlocked. Another report said a glove box had been rummaged through. 

Police said stolen items included DVDs, money, sunglasses and credit cards. 

People should lock their cars, homes and garages, police said, and should not leave valuables in their cars.

The incidents remain under investigation. Anyone with information or needing to report a newly discovered theft should contact the Clear Lake Police Department at 641-357-2186.
